September 14, 2026 - Issue 3

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE:

This week, we had a fun-filled Learning Walk around campus with Trustee Jeremy Jeffreys, Superintendent Tom O’Malley, Deputy Superintendent Steve Caminiti, Communications Director Brianna Lynaugh, and me. We had the opportunity to visit a number of classrooms and see our teachers and students in action.
What stood out was the variety of learning happening across campus. Our teachers were creating meaningful opportunities for students to think, collaborate, practice, create, and engage, and our students were genuinely invested in what they were doing. It was a great opportunity to step into classrooms and see firsthand the excellent teaching and learning taking place every day at Colfax High School.
What a great day to be a Falcon! 
 

Great News! CHS Group Tutoring, After-School Academic Support starts this week!

Colfax High School is excited to offer FREE after-school group tutoring for students who could use a little extra academic support! Tutoring is available Monday - Thursday for one hour after school in the Learning Commons. Students can drop in to ask questions, review concepts, get help with assignments, or strengthen their understanding of course material.
Support is available in IM1, IM2, IM3, English 9, English 10, Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, U.S. History, World Studies, and Government/Economics. No appointment is necessary; students are encouraged to drop in and get the help they need!
 

COLFAX GRATEFUL

We’re keeping the Colfax Grateful spirit going! At the end of lunch this week, these students saw me picking up some trash around the quad and helped clean the campus. Way to go fellas! 
It was a small moment, but one that says a lot about our kids and the culture we’re building at Colfax. We have such great kids here, folks!
Sometimes being grateful for your school simply means taking care of it, and taking care of each other.

Did you know that every Colfax High School student can enjoy breakfast AND lunch at school each day at no cost?
And this isn’t your old-school cafeteria food! Our incredible Nutrition Services team offers a variety of fresh, tasty options every day. Whether your student needs something to get the morning started or a good lunch to fuel the rest of their day, we encourage all of our Falcons to take advantage of it.
No cost. Plenty of choices. Great food. Every student. Every day.
Check out some of the breakfast and lunch options below, and a huge thank you to our amazing CHS Nutrition Staff for taking such great care of our kids!
